The 2017 meeting of the Southern Universities Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group (SUSDG) will be convened at Bristol across the 7th-8th of September by Christopher Hansen and Mitchell Quinn. This meeting continues the tradition of providing an opportunity for all young researchers in our field to present a short talk on their work within a friendly atmosphere. Participation is not limited to the Southern Universities. The programme will foster interaction with students and postdocs. Senior academics are welcome to attend. However, given the student focus of this meeting, we aim to accept all student and postdoc talks while academics will be asked to present posters to be judged by the students.


The academic and social programs, as well as accommodation, for the SUSDG 2017 meeting will be hosted at Wills Hall. Wills Hall is the oldest University Hall of Residence in Stoke Bishop. Built of stone around a 19th century house and set in beautiful grounds on the edge of the Downs, it has spectacular views and excellent facilities. While the original Hall and quadrangle echo the traditions of academia, modern accommodation and a conference centre were added in 1990 – combining today’s amenities with the richness of history.

Registration is now open and includes access to the scientific and social programme, as well as accommodation and meals. Before the 18th of August, the rate is £50 for students and £75 for postdocs and academics. Late registration is available for the cost price of £100.
